[The letter is delivered by Raven. The hand writing is done in a flowing script.]
Hello Baron Edgar, I hope this note finds you well.
I thought it would be best to open a formal dialogue between the two of us, as we will most likely be working together to ensure the safety our fellow Unseelie. I know we only spoke once before, but it is good to see you have also gained standing.
If you ever wish to visit, please, do not hesitate to send me notice.
It is a joy to hear from you again. Are you settling well into things? I will be happy to work with you. I hope only to do the best I can with the tasks entrusted to me.
You are always welcome here as well. I look forward to sharing your company.
Thank you. I would like to house a special project at your Spire. Given
its remote location and distance from Seelie eyes, it is most suited. But
understand this is a very hush-hush project. Can I count on you for
secrecy and the ability to enforce it should any assigned to this project
share their findings with our enemy?
With the most recent shardbearers to arrive, we have been gifted with many
brilliant minds in the realm of technology, innovation and magic. I
believe we should invest in research and development of melding technology
and magic in ways that can be used outside of the Station. To that end, I
am sending some of these shardbearers to your Spire to aid in finishing its
construction and then begin research.
[With everything going on, it's probably best to contact the baron directly since he'd already spoken to Saber about his new tasks. He'll keep this short and to the point though.]
Baron Edgar, right? My name is Hiro Hamada...General Saber might have told you about me? [Maybe? He's not sure, for all he knows Saber could have just been sending him out there to figure it out on his own.] She and I spoke and she wanted me to head out to spire 10 as soon as possible to help with some things, but there's kinda been a delay because of the jabberwock. I have the General's permission to wait until the monster's retrieved, but I wanted to talk to you about your spire before I head out that way.
Just some standard stuff, it's nothing huge. [But judging by the way he says that, it's actually quite a bit. Hiro's just a little too curious sometimes.]
Who was helping you before? Saber said the spire was pretty far out, so we're in the mountains? Is the spire on a mountain or in the mountain? What materials are available to us out there? You know, just stuff like that.
I haven't had much help yet in building the spire, aside from the local workers, sorcerers, and my own contributions. The spire rises from the face of the mountain, though there are areas within the mountain accessible through the spire. I've spent a lot of years living in a dwelling on a mountain. I know what I'm doing. Wood is rather scarce, but we have lots of rock. There is a vein of blood granite not far, but... it would not be a good idea to use it as part of the spire's construction. Better to save it for other purposes.
To: All barons of Spires Re: A Notice of What Ails the Golems
By now you have probably been told of the golems of the forests across the Drabwurld attacking travelers and visitors to their territory. This anger is caused by a fungus that grows on the plants, and especially the vines, that make up their form, which is growing too fast. It's basically the same as a rash on a person with skin, or fleas on the back of a furred animal.
A method for healing the golems has been found.
Please, take an elementalist who is able to control water and take them into the forests to speak with the Dryads that live there. Ask the Dryads to strengthen the golems and make it so the increased growth of the fungus doesn't irritate them. Agree to have the elementalist wash the golems so their irritation is lessened and they can calm long enough to be healed by the dryad's magic.
Do not destroy the fungus. From everything I've been able to find, it's a normal part of them. It's just that the weather seems to be exactly right for it to grow faster than it usually does. The golems only need to be strengthened so they no longer feel irritation from the current growth rate.
If you have any questions, you may send word to either Wan, in the the Village of Azure (within La Llorona) or Flora, a Marchioness of the Seelie Court.
[ Edgar will find a letter delivered by raven sometime in late November, the writing in neat and flowing script. ]
Edgar,
We haven't spoken in sometime! I was hoping to invite you to celebrate Yule with me and some of my companions in Treun. I oversee a tavern there called the Rising Sun and we're going to have a small gathering there. I do not celebrate Yule but I wasn't certain if you did or not. It'd be good to have friends and comrades together to celebrate this long year and all we've triumphed through.
Let me know at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely, Nasrin Lavellan
[ At the bottom is an address and a few scribbled directions once entering Treun, should he need to find it. ]
[ Two letters will be delivered to Edgar during the month of April. The first will be by raven, a red ribbon tied around its foot. The second will come less than a few hours later, tied with green ribbon.
The first: ]
To Baron Edgar,
Would that I could bring you better tidings in the wake of Caer Scima's revival but I have urgent news to bear. The Void can be seen from the southernmost point of Leathann. It is even closer than before, five miles at most, perhaps. Allies and traders in Treun have begun hearing word of this as well, as I last left the city in the beginning of April. How fast the Void is spreading, I cannot say, and I will remain until that information has become more clear to me. This is dire news that must be kept close until the monarchs have been informed, though I trust that this will become a much more prudent issue for us in the future. As word has begun to spread in Leathann, there has been arguing and fighting. The people are afraid. I suspect this will only worsen and grow in strength as word gets out. It will not remain secret for long.
Once more information is uncovered, I will be able to present it to you. For now, a warning is all I can offer, and thoughts towards the well-being of the people of the Drabwurld. Be safe, all of you. Whatever semblance of peace we have had since the Battles of An Càrn Bàn and An Càrn Dubh is likely to be shattered now.
Sincerely, Nasrin Lavellan
[ The second, of course, is written in slightly more familiar wording. There is a drawing of an obsidian pendant in the corner. The letter is unsigned. ]
If you have one of these or something else that will work, we can speak. I can tell you what I can.
You don't know me, possibly. My name is Johnny Storm. I need to speak with you about the fallen Spires. With Mair invaded by the Seelie, too I'm planning to restore a Spire as quickly as I can, to help with the Unseelie protection and the growing influx of refugees. But I can't do this without your assistance.
You and a +1 are invited to the opening of The Oasis. The Grand Opening will be on the 26th and will last until the 28th. Come prepared. Accommodations available in town or the Spire. Consider it part of the VIP treatment.
[You're welcome to reply here or at the post -- here]
[ He's always so formal that it's pleasant to speak with him as she feels her own self-esteem on the rise from his demeanor. Nothing like a charming man to set a woman like her right. ]
It's been some time since I've visited your spire, but from what I recall you have an affinity towards the fairy folk of this world, right?
[The invitation itself will arrive midday of the 19th. Although servants may try to open and read the letter, it's very clear that the magic is highly secure, making it so that only the baron themselves can read it.
The handwriting inside is tidy, but in a way that it's obvious that whoever wrote it made the effort to throw out a lot of different copies before deciding on the perfect set to send out. It is not the hand of someone who normally has neat handwriting, then.
Each of the messages will be delivered by one of the men who works under Jason given his middling influence in the world. They have been instructed to answer no questions.]
Our meeting of barons will commence on August 25th at Srathmarbh on the Baron Brucolac's airship.
Be diligent, and tell no one of the location before we meet (there are eyes among us). Bring your own beer (or various beverages of choice), if you'd like. I've got a feeling we're going to need it.
I look forward to seeing your homework.
[The eyes among them are the Cult, but he refuses to say it specifically. He hopes that, with the death of Saber, everyone will put two and two together.
Specifics will come when it's time to meet in a week.]

At least as a Prince, you must have experience with this sort of thing.
I look forward to seeing you again,

And I hope you aren't opposed to me addressing you as "my lady" now that you have the title.
Please keep in touch. It's nice to have friends.

No, you can address me as that now. I suppose it is more fitting. Though I'm sure upper society in England would be scandalized by it.
