Just some standard stuff, it's nothing huge. [But judging by the way he says that, it's actually quite a bit. Hiro's just a little too curious sometimes.]
Who was helping you before? Saber said the spire was pretty far out, so we're in the mountains? Is the spire on a mountain or in the mountain? What materials are available to us out there? You know, just stuff like that.
I haven't had much help yet in building the spire, aside from the local workers, sorcerers, and my own contributions. The spire rises from the face of the mountain, though there are areas within the mountain accessible through the spire. I've spent a lot of years living in a dwelling on a mountain. I know what I'm doing. Wood is rather scarce, but we have lots of rock. There is a vein of blood granite not far, but... it would not be a good idea to use it as part of the spire's construction. Better to save it for other purposes.
Is blood granite what I think it is? [Maybe he doesn't want to know. It's clear that he's taking notes though, a few hums under his breath as he starts figuring notes and equations.] Rock's better than wood. Rock's a lot more sturdy and maybe I can figure out some imp-brand cement for a brick and mortar style of design.
What can you tell me about the sorcerers that've been helping?
It's called that because of its red color. At least, I don't think any blood was involved in it. It's a mineral that has magic-cancelling properties. Which is why I can't keep it too close to the spire itself, except in very small quantities, and shouldn't handle it myself.
The sorcerers... I don't know that much about them. They aren't keen on speaking to me, except about construction matters. They're native to the area. Aellyn, they're called. But, they're loyal to Caer Scima, and in turn, willing to serve the baronies.
[There's a pause because...well. He's just starting to learn to use his magic. Let's not mess with magic-cancelling properties just yet.] Trust me, I'm not going to touch it either. Just curious.
Huh. [He makes a note of that, writing the term on a scrap of paper.] Think they'd be okay talking to me though?

[He takes the questions in stride.]
